Right Angle Prisms
Right angle prisms are generally used to bend image paths or redirect light at 90°. This produces a left handed image and depending on the orientation of the prism, the image may be inverted or reverted. Right angle prisms can also be used in combination for image/beam displacement. Prisms are made from precision N-BK7 for use in a variety of visible light applications.
Control Optics provides right angle prisms in various specifications of scale, substrate, and optical coating.
In the application of external reflection, the 45° bevel face of prisms may be applied with reflective metallic coatings such as gold, silver, aluminum to increase reflectivity and enhance reflective quality of the images.
In the application of internal reflection, the light-incident and light-emergent faces of prisms may be applied with anti-reflection (AR) coating to reduce the reflectivity of UV, visible, infrared or specified wavelength for laser application.
